What is a “Bot”?

A bot is software, program, code, algorithm, network, device or other technology that (working alone or in combination) is designed, intended, or has the capability to perform one or more automated tasks, including data entry, undertaking queries, scheduling tasks, processing forms, or generating communications. As part of its functionality, a Bot may be capable of interfacing with and using other technology.
