Google Beacons are small, Bluetooth low-energy devices that can be placed in physical locations, like stores. They broadcast signals that can trigger context-aware experiences on nearby smartphones when interacted with, such as displaying relevant ads or information. This technology is part of Google`s proximity marketing solutions. However, Google has discontinued its dedicated Beacon platform.
