This policy describes our privacy practices for the information that’s collected and used by the Feroot PageScanner browser extension.

Unless otherwise specified, this policy does not apply to any other Feroot Security’s products including but not limited to services, projects, offertings, products, platforms, initiatives, software applications, and websites. 

One of Feroot PageScanner browser extension’s features is detection of web tracking pixels, tags, data brokers, tools, vendors, and JavaScript libraries are present, and to test every visited URL for their activities on every webpage you visit with your browser against a large list of potentially harmful threats. This includes checking if any web trackers, beacons, scripts, or other technologies are accessing what you type into online forms on webpages, including but not limited to those for logging into websites that require user authentication, creating new accounts, updating your contact information, or making credit card payments online.. 

For providing security and privacy assessment features such as detecting and exporting an inventory of scripts, trackers, vendors, tools, cookies, and the country where data is transferred to or from, and the presence of web forms, the extension reports a list of scripts and trackers accessing web form fields and which form fields they access as you fill out web forms on every webpage you visit. The Feroot PageScanner browser extension handles, but DOES NOT transmit, sensitive information such as any type of personally identifiable information, web browsing activity, or any information about the website content or resources a user requests or interacts with, including domains or URLs the browser interacts with, the content of HTTP requests and responses, and data in a website’s browser storage (like cookies); form data including a person’s name, address, telephone number, email address, and username, or account number; financial and payment information, health information, authentication information such as logins, passwords, and authentication cookies, website content and resources, and user-generated content.

For further clarity, Feroot PageScanner browser extension handles the above mentioned data in the runtime of the browser extension, but it does not share it, and does not transmit a single byte of information nor any derivatives of that information. 

For example, the Feroot PageScanner browser extension stores the browsing history locally on the device for the duration of the tab being open. The data associated with a browser tab, including its history, is deleted and is never transmitted to Feroot or any other services.

• The Feroot PageScanner browser extension is designed to detect web tracking pixels, tags, data brokers, tools, vendors, and JavaScript libraries. It tests every visited URL to check their activities against a large list of potentially harmful threats.
• It includes capabilities to identify if web trackers, beacons, scripts, or other technologies are accessing data you input on webpages. This may include data entered on pages for user authentication, account creation, contact information updates, or online payments.

Security and Privacy Assessment:

• The extension provides security features such as the detection of scripts, trackers, vendors, tools, cookies, and the identification of the countries to which data is transferred.
• It inventories and reports on scripts and trackers that access web form fields and identifies which fields they interact with as you browse.

Data Handling:

• The Feroot PageScanner handles sensitive information such as personally identifiable information, web browsing activity, and website content. However, it does NOT transmit this information or any derivatives thereof.
• All handled data, including browsing history, is stored locally on the device and is deleted upon closing the browser tab. No data is transmitted to Feroot or any other services.
