What is a Security Operations Center (SOC)?

A security operations center (SOC) is a team of information security professionals that monitor, detect, prevent, analyze, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. They are responsible for protecting the organization’s network and critical business assets including intellectual property, personnel data, business systems, customer data, supply chain partner data, and brand integrity. SOC analysts report cyberthreats and then take corrective action to protect their organization.
