Man-in-the-middle attack – an attack where the attacker secretly relays and possibly alters the communications between two parties who believe they are directly communicating with each other. In this type of cyberattack where an attacker secretly intercepts and possibly alters the communication between two parties who believe they are directly communicating with each other. The attacker positions themselves between the victim and the intended recipient, which allows them to eavesdrop, capture sensitive information (like passwords or credit card numbers), or inject malicious content into the communication.
